Listening.

Design Lead · making seven audio platforms feel like one effortless way to listen — by voice, on your face.

Why it matters
Most-used
the listening experience I led became a core daily use case across 9M+ Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
7 partners
spanning different platform capabilities, unified into one consistent voice experience.
Connect '24
presented by Mark Zuckerberg in the keynote — a strategic, company-level bet.
What it does
Meta · product page ↗
Hands-free control
Play, pause, skip, "I like this song" — defined from the top voice queries users were already asking the glasses.
Voice search and discovery on the glasses
Search & discovery
"Play Taylor Swift." "Find a podcast about NYC history." Music and podcasts, by voice.
Public · demo ↗
Shazam
"What song is this?" — the glasses recognize the music playing around you.
"Hey Meta, play Discover Weekly" "Hey Meta, what track is playing?" "Hey Meta, what's the story behind this song?"
"Hey Meta, play Daily Calm" "Hey Meta, play country music" "Hey Meta, like this song"
"Hey Meta, play my workout playlist" "Hey Meta, resume my podcast"

The glasses' superpower

It sees what you see.

A phone can't see your world. The glasses can. Say "look and play something" — the camera reads the scene and matches the moment. My forward-looking proposal. It shipped.

What I drove
1 designer. 8 teams. 30+ engineers.

As the single design owner for everything listening, I held one consistent experience across seven external partner teams — plus the Default Provider team I started — and stepped in as PM to keep them all shipping toward one Connect launch.

Defined the voice system
Three pillars — control, search & discovery, AI factual — grounded in the real backend query data.
Aligned 7 partner companies
Every platform's capabilities differed. I led the cross-company work to make one consistent voice experience across all of them.
Started Default Provider
Connect several services — which one plays? I initiated the silent logic that just picks right, the edge case most products skip.
Cross-device

… and onto the AR glasses.

The same experience extends to Ray-Ban Meta Display — a gesture-driven AR music UI navigated from the band.

The takeaway

The complexity was never a single screen. It was making seven platforms feel like one effortless way to listen.
